  • i'm finally back....if only briefly.

    Wishing you a Blessed 2009.

A year full of growing closer to God, family, & friends. A year that will have joys and victories; sadness and trials. A year of unknowns, but more than that, we remember and hang on to this: God is still the same. Still in control.

I'm so thankful and ever so, so blessed.

  •  so i figured it's time to update just a little......

Colorado  -  a great week of working, catching up with friends, questions, laughing, relaxing, walking, talking, reflections, eating, etc., etc.!   Go on over to jofy to see pics.........thanks, jo!

Youth Campout '08 - hot. that's the first word that comes to mind. but we had a great time anyway, even if we just sat around most of the time.   mafia, discussions, laughing, volleyball, relaxing, sweating!, eating, mafia, taking pics, volleyball, ice cream ....... we were challenged sunday morning by this thought: it's not so much what we have, but how we use what we have; that we use what we have for God's glory. i was convicted ..... i claim His strength and power to do better!

so looking ahead the next two months.......vacations with family & friends, vbs, passion wkend - good times, but of course, work and other normal, daily things.

i love quotes and right now i'm reading a book titled Wise Words and Quotes by Vern McLellan. if you run across it, buy it or borrow it. it's a great little book with quotes on pretty much everything.

Between tomorrow's dream and yesterday's regret is today's opportunity.

    signing off -

  • Today was a perfectly gorgeous day. Blue sky, spring temperatures, bright flowers.........ahh.  i even got some sun.

We had a short, but great weekend in Indiana. If you ever want to catch up with friends that you haven't seen for a while, just go to a volleyball tournament.    The games, cheering and food were great too. Sorry, no pictures.

Upcoming is a cousin's wedding in minnesota where there's sure to be lots of noise, laughter, and talking.  I love my family. Every last one of them.

I'm off to Colorado for a week in May to help out with the new thrift store that's starting up. I'm excited about reconnecting with friends that I haven't seen for a while......okay, and definitely doing lots of work!

So life goes on .... and am I doing all I can for God? With having a business in town, I have lots of contact with people. All kinds of people and some (probably more than I know) don't believe in God. I know this either because they have told me or because of the comments I've heard. God has given me a burden for these people and believe me, it's not an easy one. To be quite honest, I really struggle with it sometimes. How do you be blunt and tactful at the same time? Is that even possible? How do you show someone that what they believe is wrong when they don't want to know? When do you speak and when do you keep your mouth shut?  I admit that I don't know the answers to these questions most of the time.  But what I am doing is trying to trust that God will reveal them to me as I need them. Is there anything else that is better than that? And yet, sometimes I feel like I have a very thick skull.....

"Lift up our eyes, Father, that we might see our world as you see it. Help us respond as you respond to the hurts around us."   -Max Lucado

I'm off to go unpack ....
